‘Mathematics can be fun if you treat it the right way’
Mathematics is nothing less than a game, a game that polishes intelligence and boosts concentration. Brain-O-Matheletics, a Math Carnival was organized at Blue Bells Preparatory School to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sir S. Ramanujan, the great Indian mathematician.
As part of the Back-to-School Series, an initiative of Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools, the carnival aimed to give a platform to our kids, to showcase their mathematical skills through games and fun activities.
Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools and Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the occasion and praised the students for their efforts.
Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the occasion and interacted with Blue Bells Media Group. She was all praise for the students, staff and parents for their collaborative efforts in putting up the gala event.
Students of Grades I and II and their parents had their choice of more than a dozen fun and interactive math games and activities that were thoughtfully planned and were spread throughout the brightly decorated grounds and run by the students. Students and parents stopped to capture a memory with Santa at the Selfie Station.
The excitement wasn’t limited to just the games. Throughout the day, excited crowds could be found enjoying all the extra fun at the Creative Corner, Sports Corner and the Food Corner. The young Blue Bellians enjoyed the day thoroughly even while performing on stage, singing and answering riddles.
The young Blue Bellians, as perfect Master chefs enjoyed serving snacks that were prepared by them. Christmas is the best time to spread the festive cheer and experience the joy of giving. The amount received on every sale of the delicious snacks, went towards a noble cause of supporting an NGO.
As part of the Back-to- School Series, a Gallery Walk was also organized for parents to witness the progression of the themes-‘Manipulating Materials’ for Grade II and ‘Landforms’, for Grade I students. The recitation of poems, explanation of theme boards was done so confidently by the students themselves and the experiments on water were testimony to the fact that students enjoy hands on activities.
The Management and The Headmistress, Ms. Anu Sehgal praised and applauded the students for demonstrating their love of learning by participating in the carnival. The overwhelming response of the parents was truly encouraging for all at Blue Bells. The event undoubtedly helped students build mathematical skills while having a memorable experience with their peers, parents and teachers!!
