Under
the Aegis of Health & Wellness programme
and the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Associate Director ,
Social & Emotional Learning, BBGS, Blue Bells Preparatory School hosted SCIFF-
School Cinema International Film Festival for parents of Classes I & II on 15.11.25.
At
the start of screening the movie and creating the ambience of a movie theatre,
parents were asked to get their tickets from the ticket counter and popcorn
were also served.
The
session started with the PPT, and a video related to Health & Wellness
programme, which was followed by Mind Jog Activity. The objective of this
activity was to help the parents go down their memory lane through familiar
movie snippets which they had enjoyed with their family and friends.
After
this fun activity three different movies were screened which emphasized the
importance of self-acceptance, building self-esteem, non-judgmental attitude,
inspiring mindful consumption of any resource, and ‘never giving up a mindset that can turn obstacles
into opportunities for growth and success.
After
the screening of each movie, a discussion was held wherein parents shared their
views and experiences. They expressed that they were able to connect deeply
with the themes of the films.
The
active participation of the parents made the event a great success and created
a memorable experience for everyone. Parents were also requested to fill out
feedback forms to share their key takeaways from the movies.
Parents
enthusiastically participated in the discussion and enjoyed the session thoroughly.
The
Head Mistress Mrs. Anu Sehgal expressed her happiness on receiving an
overwhelming response from the parents.
A
special screening of movies was also
done for the students of Classes I & II on 20.11.25.
The
session began with a Mind Jog activity
that aimed to build awareness and
knowledge about different animals, while also enhancing students’ observation
skills.
The key reflections and learning outcomes from
the movies included staying positive, never giving up, sharing, caring, and
accepting challenges in our day-to-day life. The students thoroughly enjoyed
watching the movies and actively participated in the discussions held after
each screening, sharing their thoughts and takeaways.
